Motown Conquered by the Awesome 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 with Turbo V12

For those who can afford the ultimate in contemporary commuting status, the new S-Class V12 sedan doesn't lack any element we can dream of. It's refined, luxurious and incredibly powerful. The S600 also boasts an Apple-store cache of high-tech goodies.

Introduced recently in Detroit, this new Mercedes-Benz flagship is scheduled to grace MB showrooms sometime this spring. At acardealer.com, we cannot wait to see this amazing vehicle up close.

Under the hood, the gorgeous nose of the 2015 S600 offers 6.0 liters which churn out 523 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque. That’s 13 more horsepower than before but the real story is the torque level, which peaks at just 1,900 rpm. The engine also features a fuel-saving stop-start system. Gear shifts are handled by the 7G-Tronic Plus seven-speed automatic.

Being the top-of-the-line S-Class model, the S600 also gets a comprehensive list of features, including Magic Body Control suspension with Road Surface Scan and the Driving Assistance Package, for example, all come standard. The latter comprises Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, BAS Plus with Cross-Traffic Assist, Distronic Plus with Steering Assist autonomous driving, Pre-Safe Brake with Pedestrian Recognition and Pre-Safe Plus.

In other words, this iconic luxury sedan can practically drive itself. Or at least it should feel exactly like having your own personal electronic chauffeur at the wheel!

But more than anything, the new halo of the S-Class is simply beautifully designed and exudes class. Precisely what the world's leading luxury sedan should be.

When spring is sprung (or even in the heart of winter), we recommend you hook up with Atlanta's trusted Mercedes-Benz dealer, Atlanta Classic Cars for a preview of the revolutionary new S-Class V12 luxury sedan. Ford's New Aluminum-Clad F-150 Wows the Crowds in Detroit

By making their best-selling,13th-generation truck lighter by 700 pounds, Ford has exploded
all the rules in the competitive pickup market.

Think about what that weight-loss means for the world's number one pickup in terms of performance.

It's a definite game-changer—but the 93% aluminum body isn't the only element that will get your attention. The other big news is the new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. The new engine features auto start-stop, a first in the F-150. The system will automatically disengage if the truck is towing or set to four-wheel drive, so that it doesn't leave a driver flat-footed when power is really needed. It can also be manually controlled.

Ford has yet to reveal performance or fuel economy figures on any of its new engines, but it stands to reason that the new 2.7-liter should be an adequate match for the mid-level V8s of Ram and General Motors while truckin' past those eight-cylinder competitors on fuel economy. A minimal drop in power for the 3.5 and an uptick in fuel economy should be
expected. On the other hand, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 5.0 and 3.5 EcoBoost carry over their horsepower and torque statistics, while the fuel economy of the bigger engines  will definitely benefit from the lighter body.

The 2015 F-150 will be available in Regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew cab configurations. Rear-seat access is improved on the SuperCrew, which can be had with a 5-foot, 7-inch bed or a 6-foot, 7-inch standard bed. The SuperCab retains its reverse-hinged rear door design and is available with a 6-foot, 7-inch standard bed or the 8-foot, 1-inch long bed. New safety features will include a 360-degree rearview camera, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The SuperCrew Cab can also be had with a
panoramic sunroof.

All of these details sound very impressive indeed, especially knowing that the 2015 base models will probably cost about the same as their counterparts in the current F-150.

At acardealer.com, the only problem we see is that this groundbreaking new truck won't roll into Ford showrooms until the fourth quarter of 2014. Damn.

Meanwhile, if you need an F-150 now, and you would like to get the best price in metro Atlanta, we would like to offer you an excellent tip. Make a very modest drive to the showrooms at Akins Ford in Winder, Georgia. Akins is worth a drive from anywhere—especially if you are keen on savings and selection that is beyond compare.

Along with Akins' outstanding customer service, you'll discover a spectacular inventory with matching savings and service after the sale. That's true whether your family is into Ford's innovative EcoBoost technology or a base model of the world's leading pickup, the Ford F-150. The prices are always right at Akins Ford.

From start to finish, Akins Ford-Jeep-Chrysler in Winder will put you in the driver's seat of an F-150 with a discount that is absolutely unbeatable at the start of 2014!

Top-of-the-Line Ridgeline Special Edition WIll Fill the Bill Till Honda Debuts Next-Generation Pickup in 2016

To say the Ridgeline is unique in the world of pickup trucks is an understatement. At a cardealer.com we are amazed at how extremely versatile the Ridgeline really is. It's certainly the most comfortable pickup in the marketplace.

And when it comes to comfort, well, the RIdgeline offers an interior that is downright plush.

The only problem we see is that the Ridgeline, like so many other small trucks, hasn't been bestowed with a full refresh since it hit the highway in 2006.

Well, good news Ridgeline lovers! Honda recently announced that there will indeed be a next-generation pickup in dealer showrooms—though it's going to take nearly two years for the new model to find the way to back to its Alabama assembly line.

When it was introduced, the Ridgeline garnered many awards and accolades for design and quality. We love the way the pickup artfully blends the best elements of utility vehicle and passenger car.

Yet analysts have speculated that buyers may not have been attracted to the pickup because they weren't sure exactly what it is—truck, SUV or car? Add to that Ridgeline's slow sales record in the past and you have lots of speculation about its demise. But here's a fact that may surprise you. The Ridgeline's sales have actually been rising of late. For example, in 2013, the Ridgeline's U.S. sales were up 29 percent over the previous year.

In the meantime, if you have true Ridgeline lust and don't want to wait until 2016, you can step up to the slick new 2014 Special Edition Ridgeline right now. It might set you back close to 37K, but you will get a truckload of value for your dollars. The new Special Edition boasts variable torque 4-wheel drive, integrated unit-body construction, a steel-reinforced composite cargo bed, 18" alloys, automatic climate control, Honda satellite-linked navigation, Bluetooth, heated front seats, plus a host of safety features. Truly, the list off Special Edition features just goes on an on.

We're Stung by the Kia GT4 Stinger Concept's Great Looks

Kia may not be known as a hot sports car brand, but we may see attitudes change as early as next week.

The Detroit auto show is just a few days away, and Kia has shown us a glimpse of the concept car that it will be unveiling at the show on Jan. 13. Dubbed the GT4 Stinger, the concept is a low and wide 2+2 sports car, featuring an expansive grille framed by vertical LED headlights. Like the Kia GT concept we saw in Frankfurt in 2011, the GT4 stinger is supposedly rear-wheel drive.

Created by Kia's American Design Center in California, the GT4 Stinger concept incorporates Kia's signature "Tiger Nose" grille design, which has been spreading to all the cars in the automaker's lineup. But Kia promises that the GT4 will share very little with their other offerings, and will be powered by a 2.0-liter 315-hp engine.

The front of the concept has been designed with front-brake cooling
vents which are meant to funnel air around the car's 20-inch wheels,
with a carbon fiber front splitter located below the bumper that's
designed to provide a bit more downforce.

The top view of the concept suggests a shooting-break profile, with a relatively long roof
leading to a hatch in the back. The hood is designed to appear wider than the rest of the
concept car, which will feature much more pronounced wheel arches in the rear than in the front. The tail of the GT4 concept has a more rakish, tapered look.

It isn't clear if the GT4 Stinger is based on an existing platform or if it has been fabricated from the ground up, but if it does share bones with a
production car, the Hyundai Genesis coupe wouldn't have been a bad place to start.

The North American International Auto Show, known to most as the Detroit auto show, continues to serve as a barometer for the entire industry. This year, we'll expect to see the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the 2015 Ford Mustang and the BMW M3 and M4. The 2014 Detroit auto show is held at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Mich., and will be open to the public from January 18-26.

If you understand the long-term value of  a Kia—any Kia, from Soul to Sedona to Optima, and you live anywhere in the midwest, we would like you to consider Ray Skillman Kia in Indianapolis. Consumer Repoarts Names Toyota Prius Best Value in the Marketplace for Second Year in a Row

A trusted source in automobile research for consumers has given Toyota's popular hybrid an end-of-the-year boost. The Consumers Reports' analysis is based on overall ownership cost over the course of a five-year period, with the Toyota compact hybrid claiming the least drain on your pocketbook at just 47 cents per mile. At acardealer.com, we have to tell you that number is extremely wallet-friendly.

"The Prius' 44 mpg overall is the best fuel economy of any non-plug-in car that Consumer Reports has tested," said Consumer Reports Automotive Editor Rik Paul. "Though it's not particularly cheap to buy, the Prius' depreciation is so low that it costs less to own over the first five years than its initial MSRP. We call that a bargain."

Consumer Reports' road-test score was calculated based on the five-year owner cost for each vehicle, along with the organization's own predicted-reliability score from the latest Annual Auto Survey. In short, the better a car performs in Consumer Reports' road tests and reliability ratings, and the less it costs to own over time, the better its value. The five-year owner cost estimates factor in depreciation, fuel, insurance premiums, interest on financing, maintenance and repairs, and sales tax. Depreciation is by far the largest owner-cost factor.

The biggest factor in the Prius' evergreen popularity is its amazing fuel economy—the Prius' EPA combined rating of 50 mpg is topped only by the smaller Prius C and much more expensive plug-in hybrids such as the Chevrolet Volt. The Prius is also a pleasant car to drive in the daily grind. No, it won't raise the pulse of driving enthusiasts, but it is an easy-to-park, comfortable and spacious vehicle. And then there's the Prius' strong record for reliability and longevity. Considering all these practical attributes, it's no wonder you see Priuses used as taxicabs in many cities.

That is why the 2014 Toyota Prius remains the quintessential hybrid, and its blend of fuel efficiency, practicality, comfort and handy high-tech features makes it an easy choice in this segment.

If you are in the market for the highest-regarded, most-efficient hybrid vehicle in America, we highly recommend Stone Mountain Toyota at 4400 Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn.
